At 1:00 p.m. you can watch Wyoming (Blair Burns) at Boise State on ESPN-GP.

At 6:00 p.m. you can watch Baylor (Collin Brence) at Texas Tech on FSN Affiliates, or jump in the car and drive to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX to see the game in person.

Collin Brence - a 2011 Plano grad and freshman at Baylor, Collin has played in 5 games this season, and is credited with 2 assisted tackles.  This week Baylor plays at Texas A&M at 11:00 a.m., which will be broadcast on FX.

Rex Burkhead – a 2009 Plano grad and junior this season at the University of Nebraska, Rex has played in 6 games this season, and is credited with 635 yards rushing for 9 TD’s, 68 yards receiving for 1 TD, 1 punt return for 19 yards, 3 solo tackles and a fumble recovery.  This is a bye week for the Huskers.

Alumni Update 9-22-11: Burns vs. Burkhead

It doesn’t happen very often.  Wildcat alum vs. Wildcat alum, on field at the same time.  But it will happen this Saturday in front of a sold-out stadium in Laramie, Wyoming.

On the defensive side of the ball will be true freshman Wyoming cornerback #20 Blair Burns .  Burns, a stand-out defensive back for last year’s Plano Wildcats was named Week 3 Honorable Mention Defensive Back Performer Of The Week by College Football Performance Awards.  He’s played every game this season, racking up 2 interceptions for 65 yards, 1 fumble recovery, 9 tackes and 1 assist.

On the offensive side of the ball is true junior Nebraska I-Back #22 Rex Burkhead.  Burkhead played varsity for the Wildcats all four years (including the storied 2005 team, the last to beat Allen) taking turns running, receiving, passing and punting.  Burkhead began playing for the Huskers as a true freshman, and already this season has accumulated a net 250 yards rushing on 48 carries, one reception for 4 yards, and one punt return for 19 yards.  All capped by 5 TD’s.  So far.

Also on the Husker roster is former Wildcat true freshman walk-on running back #24 Murat Kuzu.   Primarily a running back for the Wildcats, Kuzu was instrumental in a pivotal win over the Wylie Pirates two years ago when he was the surprise starting quarterback for that game, wearing a different jersey number than worn in prior games (a tactic Coach McCullough said he took from former head Coach Tom Kimbrough’s play book).

The game will kick-off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Central Time and will be broadcast on the Versus Channel.
