The Wildcats varsity 7-0n-7 football team won all three games at the Mesquite SQT today.  The team already qualified for State at the Frisco Liberty SQT, and continues to play in scheduled SQT’s to prepare for the Championship Tournament July 15 and 16.

Plano cruised through the first two games, 31-12 against Arlington Seguin and 33-12 against Greenville.

The only apparent challenge was served up by North Mesquite in the third game played at Noon at Mesquite’s Memorial Stadium.  For the first time of the morning, Plano was down at halftime 7-12.  The Wildcats rallied early in the second half, and the lead see-sawed between the teams several times until a key interception in the final minute put Plano’s offense in control with a two-point lead as the clock ran down.

Earlier in the week in League play, Plano swept J.J. Pearce, varsity 35-28  and JV 30-19.

Varsity 7-on7 team events scheduled for the upcoming week include League play Wednesday night against Berkner, the Red Bull Gamebreaker Tournament Friday afternoon, and the Wylie SQT on Saturday.   The Wylie SQT, originally scheduled to be held on the SMU campus, may be relocated due to field repair at SMU.
