Lewisville ISD joins Plano in new 8-5A

The biennial UIL redistricting and realignment release Monday left Plano in District 8-5A, but with new member schools.
As has been the case since the mid 90s, Plano, Plano East and Plano West will be aligned with Allen. For the only the second time since Plano moved to Class 5A, those four schools will be aligned with Flower Mound, Flower Mound Marcus and Lewisville. For the first time, the Plano ISD will be aligned with Hebron.
Plano will continue to compete in Region I and will face the alignment of Coppell, Denton Guyer, Keller, Keller Central, Keller Fossil Ridge, Northwest, Saginaw and Southlake Carroll in the bi-district playoff round.
The alignment will return Plano to a football schedule it is used to. The 8-team alignment will produce a 7-game district schedule and three non-district games with the choice of whether to have a bye week.
